He doesn't have much
Much that he can give, anyway
But he gives all he can to all he loves
Until they start to feel entitled
They all have moments when they think they deserve his wares
They start to make demands
And set expectations
They forget that his free giving is not without sacrifice
His giving comes at a cost, even though he hands himself out as if it were all surplus
He wears down.
